Last week, I came across Kobe Sizzlers at Khader Nawaz Khan Road, on my way back from Apollo Hospitals. It was a chance, I came through this road, as there was traffic in the route, I normally take.
Having been a regular patron of 'Kobe Sizzlers', while I was a resident of Pune City, I was waiting to treat my taste buds. Finally, today, I visited them for dinner and will have to admit that I was not disappointed at all.
Kalyan Kumar Banerjee, one of the founder of my company had visited the Chennai office and during one of my casual meetings with him, I had bounced this idea of going to this place. So, evening, I picked up my family and Kalyan also brought his family and we met at 'Hotel Marriott' and went to Kobe Restaurant.
First and foremost, the restaurant is slightly inside and you can easily miss it. The building had one more restaurant apart from Kobe, and that happened to be a Thai restaurant. Though these two had different entrances, realized that, both the restaurants are connected inside. Though the reception was not so great, we did wait for a couple of minutes before one of the waiters noticed us, even that happened, only after I established eye contact with him. As I had already booked the table, getting a seat on a Friday evening was really not a problem. I would say, even If I had not booked, it would really not have been a problem.
The smell and sound of the sizzler was mouth watering and we were waiting to place the order. The order was taken pretty quickly and the variety of sizzler in the menu was also very pleasing. Ambiance was pretty rustic and clean and made us quite comfortable.
Portion of the sizzler that was served was quite a lot and it would be difficult for an individual to comfortably eat one, but the taste would compel you to complete. I had a Fish Sizzler with boneless pomfret, other guests had Sphagetti and Cheese, Veg Shaslik, Noodles and Mushroom and Chicken Sizzler. And everyone enjoyed, what was served to them. The price was not too expensive for a good meal, it would cost you an average of Rs.350/- per person. In my honest opinion, it was value for money.

Women's Day Wishes
It's Women's day, today and I am one who believes in women power. Have come across many wonderful women in my life, who have fought all odds and been successful in their life and left an indelible impression in my mind.
On this day, it also makes me think of a worrying observation at workplace. At the junior level the percentage of women is little more than 40% and at the senior level is less than 10%. Just worried on the number of women who are either giving up their career or being forced to give up. Irrespective of celeberating 'Women's Day', let each and everyone reading this, pledge that we will ensure, that we support the women in our life, in pursuing her career.
' Wishing all the Wonderful Women, I have known and not known a great Women's Day'

At times, we do not even realise how fast time goes.... runs...flys...whatever....
It looks like it was just yesterday, when my daughter came into my life on 2nd October 2001, but some events make you realize how much time has passed. Couple of weeks back, my daughter and I were having a casual chat and she was asking me, when will I get a room for myself. Thats when I realized that she is no more a baby. Without coming out of the rude shock, I asked her, 'Aren't you scares to sleep alone, incase I give you a room ?' She immediately shot back saying from today, I will sleep in the living room and you and Amma continue to sleep in the bedroom.
In fact, she did not stop there, she has been doing that for the last few days, braving the mosquito and also the climate, we don't switch on the A/c in the living room at night. Seeing her perseverance, I agreed to her request and I am in the process of creating a room for her.
But, her request did not stop there, she asked me what is 'www.venkyb.com', when I explained her about blogging, she asked for a website for her. The result of that is 'www.amultin.com', Not sure, what she would have in this, but I am looking forward.....

Mannipaaya from Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya
Though not a big music buff, I do enjoy listening to good music. Except for a very few evergreen songs, my attention does not stay on any song for a long time. But 'Mannipaaya' from 'Vinnaithaandi Vaaruvaya' has really swept me off my feet, first and foremost, I found life in that song, which is very much missing in all the contemporary songs.
Thamarai's Lyrics, Rahman's Music and his voice and Shreya Goshal's Tamil pronunciation, Picturisation of the song and lastly Simbu and Trisha giving life to the song in the movie, I can keep going on...
Following is the lyrics of the song :
Kadalinil meenaaga irundhavaL naan
unakkena karai thaandi vandhavaL dhaan
thudithirundhen tharaiyinile
thirumbivittEn en kadalidame
Oru naaL sirithEn, maru naaL veruthEn
unai naan kollaamal kondru pudhaithEnE
mannipaaya mannipaaya.. .
Tthadumaari nadandhEn
noolilaana mazhai aagi ponen

Tholai dhoorathil veLicham nee
