I am an IT Professional and so called people who are stressed with their work. Recently, when we were addressing a bunch of campus recruits in my organisation, I was talking about the importance of celeberating wins and we should not ignore even the smallest of wins. I am one of the practitioner of that and my team will always have a reason to celeberate and make noise. Why do we do this ? To motivate the team, as a stress buster.
This morning when the NSG Commandos came out of the Taj Hotel after 60 hrs of non stop action after a job very well done, there was absolute calm and there were absolutely no euphoria or congratulatory gestures. When the reporters thanked them for their valour, they said " We did our job."
Isn't their job stressful? 60 hrs of action, even if they are not alert even for a second, they may harm the operaions and they may even lose their life. How many meals they would have skipped? What would there families be thinking of them? Would they even be sure that they would come out of the hotel alive?
Dont they need to be motivated? Should they not celeberate their wins? When they admit that it is their job and need no appreciation for what they have done. What are we doing? Why do we need constant motivation and encouragement to even do our job?
We dont need encouragement, we need to be pampered... I strongly feel thats what is happening..

Mumbai Terror Attack - What did I learn?
As I was following the attack on the Taj and Oberoi Hotel very closely, the various footages shown during the same trigerred a lot of thoughts in me. Infact within a weeks time, this probably is the second event that has made me look at life differently.
When the NSG Commandos came out of Taj after 60 hours of operation risking their own life, one of the News reporter asked them, "How difficult was the task?" The commando with a smile on his face replied 'That nothing was difficult for them". That smile and the statement really made me shed tears.
Relation to something in my life, recently my office shifted a little outside the city and we were all cribbing about the distance and the time taken for travel, the quality of food that was available and what not. When we are worrying about trivial things in life and making such a hue and cry about smaller things, there are people who are not worried about even laying down their lives, with a smile on their face for the sake of unknown people like us. So this made me feel that life is beautiful and if we are going to trouble ourselves by worrying our simple things, we would only be the loser. The above statement and the situation would always be echoing within myself, whenver I come across a diffcult situation in life, when that man can smile, with whatever I have got in life, I should always be laughing and making others smile.
Thank you Commandos, I am sleeping peacefully in my house, becasue you are awake. Also, a big thank you for giving me this realisation within me and being an inspiration.

War Zone - Mumbai - Anger against whom ???
Its been an emotional 60 hours for all the Indians and its no different for me. Wondering what do these people want and what do these people gain by killing innocent people. Cannot they find a better way to show there struggle without destruction.
Even the terrorists who were killed were born to a mother and a father and they also were born with their siblings, will they still do this if any of their kin is present in any of these places. Even that mother would have grieved that his son is no more. Its really terrible and what should I do to make this world a better place.
Attacks like this happen and we all get emotional about this and then after a week we forget everything, should we let the fire that is burning because of these attacks to die, should not we store this within us and see what contribution we can make to bring this armed terrorism to an end.
Interestingly at this moment looking at the talk shows and seeing the way people are reacting, everybody's anger seems to be squarely on the politicians, for their inaction. But why should this be, this compels me to draw up an analogy, When a movie is released, if it is to the taste of the people, it runs successfully and the film maker is appreciated for that and incase the audience does not like that, the film maker is a failure, even if he had conceived a good movie. Same way, if the politicans are playing the religion and the caste card, its for the people and the people like it, we have so much anger but have we summarily rejected any of the politician who is playing caster politics, we have not. So lets understand that this anger should be against oneself and its only the self discipline against these kind of things, that would make this world a great place atleast for my children and grandchildren.
So lets not forget the sacrifices made by Mr. Kharkare, Mr. Salaskar, Mr. Amte, Maj. Sandeep Unnikrishnan, Havildar Gajendar and score of other people who have laid down their life to protect you and me. Let's store this within us and ensure that we dont encourage anything that we think could bring down our nation and our unity, this could even start from as small as obeying traffic rules, irrespective of the presence of policeman....
